Biography
Keyvan Hashtrudi-Zaad received Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada, in 2000. He held a consulting position with Motion Metrics International Corp., Vancouver on the development of a dynamic payload monitoring system for heavy-duty hydraulic machines. He joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Queen's University in 2001, where he is now a Professor, the Co-director of BioRobotics Research Laboratory and a member of the Ingenuity Labs Research Institute.
Dr. Hashtrudi-Zaad's research interests include control systems design for telerobots and haptic interfaces, biomedical robotics, autonomous vehicles, and system dynamics identification and modeling. Dr. Hashtrudi-Zaad is a Co-Chair of the 2021 IEEE World Haptics Conference and the Associate Editor of IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters. He has served as the Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Haptics and in the organizing Committees of numerous IEEE-sponsored conferences. Dr. Hashtrudi-Zaad is the Chair of the EMB/RA/CS Societies Joint Chapter of IEEE Kingston Section, a Senior Member of IEEE and a Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada
