It is a great pleasure to announce that the IEEE Board of Directors selected our Professor Praveen Jain to receive the 2021 IEEE Medal in Power Engineering, which is given for outstanding contributions to the technology associated with the generation, transmission, distribution, application, and utilization of electric power for the betterment of society.

The award comes with the following citation:

 “For contributions to the theory and practice of high-frequency power-conversion systems.”

For nearly a century, the IEEE Awards Program has paid tribute to researchers, inventors, innovators, and practitioners whose exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions have made a lasting impact on technology, society, and the engineering profession. Each year the IEEE Awards Board recommends a small number of outstanding individuals for IEEE's most prestigious honors.
