Dr. Praveen Jain Earns $4 Million in funding from Ontario Research Fund

The department of Electrical and Computer engineering would like to congratulate Dr. Praveen Jain on earning $4 million dollars in research funding from the Ontario Research Fund - Research Excellence. Dr. Jain will be leading a team of researchers from the University of Ottawa, York University and Western University to advance development of small-scale, point-of-use photovolataic (solar) power systems for residential use.

Dr. Jain is the Director of the Queen's University Centre for Energy and Power Electronics Research (ePOWER) and an internationally recognized visionary in the field of power electronics. His efforts have had a dramatic impact on the industry through decades of leading-edge research and applications. Additionally, Dr. Praveen Jain was recently selected by IEEE Canada as the 2017 recipient of the IEEE Canada P. Ziogas Electric Power Medal, which is the highest award in the field of Power Engineering in Canada.
