Registration Process when you arrive

Note: It is important to arrive a couple of days before the day of registration to complete all the necessary preparations for the final steps for registration.

Meet With the Graduate Program Assistant:

A month before your arrival you will be contacted to set up an appointment with the Graduate Program Assistant. At this meeting you will be given a package containing information regarding registration, porgram requirements and Department policies and procedures. Please bring your student visa to this meeting.

Meet With Your Supervisor:

The Graduate Program Assistant will give you all the necessary forms for course registration.This form will require your supervisor’s signature.You should discuss course selection, how you will be expected to progress in your program and what your research topic might be (if known).Your supervisor is responsible for allocating desk space in the research laboratory. He or she may introduce you to other graduate students in the research group.They are also responsible for requesting keys for their research lab and building but these keys cannot be given out until the student is fully registered.

Registration Process:

Program registration is done electronically, in July you will contract by the School of Graduate Studies with information for pre-registration and continued email contact will explain the steps for complete registration. However, all course registrations are done on paper by completing an "Academic Change Form" and can be done once you have arrived here at the university. These forms are available in the Main Office.

Deadlines:

August 1, 2010 - Tuition payment due (Domestic Students only)

September 9, 2010 - Final Step to registration - obtain Student Card

September 13, 2010 - Fall Term classes begin

October 2, 2010 - Last date to add or drop a fall term course
